Hatchford Brook Golf Club

As my local golf course I count myself quite fortunate. The green fees are reasonable and what you get for your fee is more than expected. As can be seen from numerous trophies in the clubhouse, this course is award winning. Some days are busy and then you play to get through. Other days are nice and quiet and you can take your time. Fairways are decently looked after and easy to stay on. The greens are superb and fast if you have a heavy hand. Mostly level but a few with some contours to get around. Even during the dry summer it was something the club can be proud of. There are push/pull trollies and golf cars to rent. Food and drinks are served with a nice view. Car park at the front with easy access to the course. Putting green and chipping greens as well as the driving range near clubhouse. Is it perfect?.. , no its not. The water hazards is empty ditches but its marked as "out of bounce". Some places the bushes will eat your ball asif by magic if you dare hit a hook or fade. This year was very hot and the sand struggled for four weeks to feel like sand and not cement till it rained and then it was pleasant enough, as pleasant as a sand bunker should be. Sometimes it looks like the planes are aiming to land on the fairway, but that's not a negative point in my books as its amazing watching these tin birds landing and taking off from this small distance to the Birmingham International Airport. Its a great course for beginners and I think the better players enjoy it too. I go there as often as I can and recommend that you try it if you haven't yet been. You will definitely return for more.

I visited your golf centre and was very disappointed with several different areas of the centre. Firstly, the lack of friendly front line staff who look miserable and unapproachable. A simple good morning or a smile doesn’t cost anything. The poor etiquette throughout the centre was non-existent. Letting people play in Rugby shirts and any sort of shorts. The course is in fair condition but, discarded beer cans and bottles throughout the course is unacceptable. I appreciate you have bins around the course and you can’t be responsible for loutish behaviour. My partner paid £28 because he booked online to secure the booking and was not told it would cost me £32 if I paid on the day. Your course would benefit having a Course Stewart at the start and around the course.
